The wizards of Waverly are actually the family portrayed in the Disney Channel series “The Wizards of Waverly Place.” This unique and entertaining Disney series first appeared back in October of 2007 to instant popularity. In 2009, it one day television Emmy award for being an outstanding children's program. It mainly revolves around the three magical children of the Russo family. In 2009, The Wizards of Waverly Place began filming in high definition, giving fans even more reason to sit down and enjoy this family-friendly series.

The three actors in the series playing the wizard-in-training children of the Russo family father (Jerry DeLuise) are Selena Gomez (“Alex”), older brother (in the series) David Henrie (“Justin”) and their younger brother Max, who's played by Jake T. Austin. They live with their father, who is a retired wizard and their mother. They must keep their wizard powers secret as much as they can, too.

 

The basic point of the series will be that the three Russo children will have a wizard competition when they become adults to decide just who of the three will become the family's new wizard. He or she will be the only one to keep wizard powers while the other two will lose them. There are several settings where the series mainly takes place, including the Waverly Sub Shop. This is the Russo family sandwich shop and Alex, Justin and Max all have to help out at the shop.

 

The Russo family lives in “The Loft,” and it's connected to the Wizard Lair and the family sub shop. The Lair is where the three children receive magic lessons from their father. When it's not being used as a training room for learning to do magic, it looks like a freezer in the sub shop. The magic school the kids attend is called WizTech, and it where they learn all of their magic and train as wizards.

 

Alex is the middle child of the three Russo children and her full name is Alexandra Margarita Russo. She gets into trouble sometimes because of her misuse of her magical powers. She isn't the greatest student, either in regular school or wizard school, though she badly wants to win the wizard competition.

 

Justin Russo is the oldest of the three Russo children and is considered to be very advanced. He's finished his wizard training and is now learning how to hunt monsters. Many think he'll be the winner of the competition. Max is the youngest child and he likes to spend time doing quirky and odd things. He also did poorly in school though his magical tutor helped him improve a bit.

 

The Wizards of Waverly Place is a magical show that's enjoyable and constantly interesting. It shouldn't be missed because it can teach a great many lessons, along with how to learn to laugh at the things we also do to get ourselves into trouble.
